Women's Tennis Drops 8-1 Little East Decision At Worcester State

WORCESTER, Mass. --  Four different players posted wins in both singles and doubles action to lead Worcester State to an 8-1 Little East Conference women’s tennis dual-match victory over UMass Dartmouth Tuesday afternoon on the Wachusett Regional High School Courts.

Juniors Dominque Alves (Ludlow, Mass.), Emma Collins (Marion, Mass.) and Monika Mularski (Auburn, Mass.) joined sophomore Charlotte Mullane (Sterling, Mass.) in collecting straight set singles triumphs for the host Lancers (9-4, 6-2 LEC), who also received a straight set singles win from junior Monika Konicki (Auburn, Mass.).  Alves and senior Lauren Taylor (Attleboro, Mass.) claimed an 8-4 victory at number one singles for Worcester State, which received an 8-0 triumph at the second spot from the tandem of Collings and Mullane along with an 8-4 win at the final doubles position from Mularski and junior Bekah Riley (Ellington, Conn.).

Freshman Lauren Morgart (Weston, Mass.) accounted for the visiting Corsairs’ (7-7, 3-5 LEC) lone point of the afternoon with a straight set victory at number one singles.

UMass Dartmouth hosts Suffolk in a non-league dual-match on Thursday afternoon on the UMD Courts beginning at 3:00 pm, while Worcester State travels to Weston, Mass. for a non-league outing with Regis on Thursday afternoon that begins at 3:30 pm.
