Volleyball Drops 3-0 Non-League Decision At 17th-Ranked Babson

BABSON PARK, Mass. --  Freshman Jordan Lapins (Calgary, Alta.) notched nine kills and a pair of digs to lead 17th-ranked Babson to a 3-0 non-league college volleyball victory over UMass Dartmouth Wednesday evening at Staake Gymnasium.

Juniors Allie Puccio (New Hartford, N.Y.) and Sabrina Lechner (Novato, Calif.) combined for 15 kills as the host Beavers (12-1) triumphed by set scores of 25-16, 25-18 and 25-16 to extend the nation’s current longest Division III home court winning streak to 26 straight.  Senior Elizabeth Cameron (El Dorado Hills, Calif.) and freshman Kelsey Hoff (Newtown Square, Pa.) each had 10 set assists for Babson, which received 13 digs from sophomore Maddie Malee (Orlando, Fla.).

Senior Nicole Silverman (Chelmsford, Mass.) registered seven kills, three digs and a pair of service aces in the setback for the visiting Corsairs (3-7), who received a combined seven kills from sophomores Emma Aillet (Deer Park, Tex.) and Mallory Singer (Succasunna, N.J.).  Junior Riley Thomas (Fairhaven, Mass.) collected 10 set assists for UMass Dartmouth, which received nine digs from senior Jillian Sykora (Waterford, Conn.) as well as five digs each from sophomore Charleen Lamagna (Pembroke, Mass.) and freshman Vanessa Barreto (Natick, Mass.).

UMass Dartmouth heads to Plymouth, N.H. on Saturday afternoon for a tri-match with host Plymouth State and Husson beginning at Noon, while Babson travels to Northampton, Mass. for tri-match action with host Smith and Keene State that also begins at Noon.
